Sad to hear about this as brings back fond memories from my childhood, stopping of here en route to our caravan in Kent pre days of M25 /Dartford crossing. Would take the dog out for a stretch/piss and then have a have a drink and something to eat.
Revisited a couple of years back and had quite a decent burger was glad to see it was still open and doing a good trade.
Used to and sounds like still does attract a lot of bikers as well as passing lorry drivers.
Like these type of places as well as the cab-mans shelters whose numbers also seem to be dwindling.

That's what will probably happen

I would never vote for the Tories but I despite the Labour Party in South London - it's always been full of toxic bastards who don't understand the meaning of democratic socialism - so I've never voted for them either.

When I first saw this I thought... I cant recall a poster called Blackheath Tea Hut, given the loses we've had recently.

Re: Blackheath Tea Hut RIP.
sold yep only a hut and yep insured 3 injured including woman that was running it.
Council will use it as a reason to finish it off

Re: Blackheath Tea Hut RIP.
Obviously a crowdfunding page has been set up...£2000 + raised already...

That should help pay for a tea hut with all the bells and whistles on it for the next 100+ years

Cars have been going past the cafe for nearly 100 years and a BMW with probably all the safety features ploughs into it, hmm...

You've got to change with the times or go by the wayside. Should have updated that place years ago so not surprised to see it go bang.

Wouldn't have happened if it was a Drive Thru.

Lewisham Council that side of the road Ern, and the less said about them the better. It’s about, what, 20m from the divide from Greenwich Council, who would no doubt have given it protected status

Re: Blackheath Tea Hut RIP.
I live in Blackheath, the place was regular pit stop on the way back from late nights out to get something to eat. Always busy day or night.

Hope it does get rebuilt - can’t build housing on the heath, so there’s no reason it can’t be
